Bio: Richard Sudek, Ph.D. is a lifelong entrepreneur, experienced angel investor, and currently serves as Executive Director of UC Irvine Applied Innovation. In 1999 Richard sold his data networking design business, Nadek, to SAIC, a $10 billion international firm. Richard has been active in the angel investing community since 2000, has served on the Angel Capital Association board, and is Chairman Emeritus of Tech Coast Angels. His research focuses on the investment decision process, and he has worked to pass this knowledge along to young entrepreneurs in his former role as an educator at Chapman University. Richard currently sits on the Tech Coast Angel Board of Governors, as well as boards of non-profits, engineering and high technology companies, and non-profits.
The Entrepreneurship Seminar Series provides a real-world introduction to the theory and practice of entrepreneurship. Through a series of presentations by prestigious entrepreneurs and industry leaders, participants will explore the various organizational, strategic and financial challenges facing successful and unsuccessful entrepreneurs. Topics include start-up strategies, business idea evaluation, business plan writing, and introduction to venture capital.
